HOW TO ACCESS ESU ACCOMMODATION
SASSA Service ESU will offers accommodation in its Residences to Erasmus+ for Studies, SEMP, SEN Coimbra, ARQUS, UK University, non-Erasmus Bilateral Agreements, Double & Joint Degree (including Erasmus Mundus) students.
Due to the limited number of places, accommodation in ESU university residences is offered with priority to non-European students (who urgently need to find accommodation in order to apply for a study visa).
Only students who have been specifically invited by the Incoming Mobility Unit of the University of Padua can fill in the accommodation form.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR FILLING OUT THE ACCOMMODATION FORM
To fill out the form there are 2 steps:
- Registration (create new user)
- Fill out the Sassa Accommodation Form – incoming students
Registration (create new user)
1.Prepare a scan of a valid identity document (for NON EU only passport) in pdf format (maximum size, 3Mb).
You will be asked to choose a password: take note of it, because you will have to use it every time you access the portal!
Now, for the registration go HERE
2. You will receive an email with your username to be used to access the portal. The username coincides with the tax code you have entered.
Fill out the Sassa Accommodation Form – incoming students
3. Prepare a passport photo in jpg format, maximum 1 MB, with dimensions of 220x280 pixels: now LOGIN using username and password
4. In the top left corner select the current academic year (2023/2024), click on "Sassa Accommodation Form: incoming students" and fill out the form.
It's not possible to choose which university residence to be assigned to. You can express a preference in the "Notes" field of the accommodation form.

ALLOCATION METHODS
An accommodation offer will arrive by email indicating the assigned residence, the type of room and the period of availability of the place (which may not always coincide with the period requested: assignments refer to the academic calendar for the current year).
For different arrivals or departures could be necessary to search in the private renting sector.
In this e-mail you will find instructions how to accept (or refuse) the offer and all the info about deposit payment.

ACCEPTANCE AND PAYMENT OF DEPOSIT
The deposit of 350 € must be payed to accept the place. Without the payment the place will be delete.
The payment must be made ONLY ONLINE (entering in your Sportello Studente)

ARRIVAL IN PADOVA
At your arrival you can go directly your assigned Residence (Receptions are open 7 days a week and 24 hours a day - apart from the Galilei Residence, which has the Reception in nearby Ceccarelli residence) and you can collect your badge and keys.
In your room you will find: blankets and mattress cover. Sheets and pillow are not provided.
All Residences have kitchen rooms, communal or private, equipped with hobs, sinks, refrigerators, cupboards, etc. You must provide your own utensils (pots, plates, cutlery...), detergents and cleaning materials.
COME TO SASSA OFFICE:
After the arrival in the allocated Residence NON-EU students should come to the SASSA Service (by appointment ONLY).
ATTENTION! Remember to bring with you valid passport with VISA and STAMP.
WIFI:
Wifi is available in all common areas and in the rooms.
Wifi is managed by Fastweb, not by ESU, and has nothing to do with the connections provided by the University of Padua: to access it ask the residence staff.
During the first connection you have to register on the provider's home page using your mobile phone number. If you are unable to register with your non-Italian mobile phone number, contact the residence manager.
Problems relating to accommodation and monthly payments: contact your Residence Manager by ticket.
PAYMENTS:
The rent has tobe paid by the 5th of each month via MyPay (PagoPa System).

You can go to pay in all the authorised tobacconist's shop.

RELINQUISHMENT OF ACCOMMODATION
- Before arrival
In case of renunciation of the assigned accommodation before arriving in Padua, the deposit will be returned only if the renunciation is due to serious and documented reasons (illness, accident, etc...) and communicated by written notification to sassa@esu.pd.it at least 15 days before arrival.
- After arrival in Padua or during the period of stay
It is only allowed for valid and documented reasons. Any renunciation must be communicated with 30 days' notice. Documented academic reasons include: participation in internships, apprenticeships, study programmes or other equivalent cases at other universities, cities, regions, foreign states, authorised by the University at any time during the academic year.
In any case, late notification or the absence of documented academic reasons shall result in the loss of the deposit.
For contracts expiring at the end of July only, it is possible to reduce the period of stay to the end of February by communicating this by e-mail to sassa@esu.pd.it by 15 November.

RETURN OF THE DEPOSIT
You must enter your Bank Details in your Sportello Studente > Bank Details
ATTENTION!
If you have a non-European Bank Account, please contact Sassa Service with a ticket at least one month before check-out.
The security deposit will only be released after regular check-out of the room, which consists of leaving it in the same condition as it was delivered, i.e. free of all personal belongings and thoroughly cleaned.
The security deposit will be returned by bank transfer, less bank charges, within 60 days of the end of the allocation period.
